Saint George: The Triumph over Evil and the Embodiment of Courage
Saint George, one of Christianity's most famous martyrs, has symbolized courage, fortitude and victory over evil for centuries. This extraordinary work of art combines the essence of his legend in a modern depiction: a knight on a rearing horse, defeating the dragon with his lance.
The bright red document ink on fine handmade paper enhances the dynamism of the scene and gives the image a powerful presence - ideal for rooms that are intended to radiate inspiration and strength.
The Dragon Slayer: Symbol of the Victory of Good
Legend has it that a terrifying dragon terrorized a kingdom, demanding regular sacrifices. When the king's daughter was to be sacrificed, George emerged as a savior. With unwavering courage, he confronted the dragon, slew it with his lance, and freed the city. This iconic moment makes George a symbol of the triumph of good over evil – a theme powerfully captured in this artwork.
The Martyrdom of Saint George: Steadfast in Faith
George was a Roman soldier and a devout Christian. During the persecution of Christians under Emperor Diocletian, he steadfastly refused to worship Roman gods. For his faith, he was cruelly tortured and finally beheaded in the year 303 AD. His unwavering commitment made him a martyr and a model of steadfastness and courage.
An Artistic Tribute to Strength and Confidence.
This artwork pays homage to Saint George in a modern, poetic way. The dragon, symbolizing fear and obstacles, lies defeated on the ground, while George's dynamic posture embodies strength and determination. The red ink recalls martyrdom and simultaneously represents inexhaustible energy. As an artwork for living spaces, offices, or meditation areas, it creates an inspiring atmosphere that provides strength and confidence every day.
A Daily Companion for Inspiration and Reflection
Saint George is the patron saint of countries like England, Georgia, and Ethiopia, as well as soldiers, farmers, and horsemen. His feast day on April 23rd commemorates his deeds and his faith. This limited-edition artwork, harmoniously combining strength and hope, is more than decoration – it is a daily impulse for inner peace and determination.

Whether as a gift for those who face challenges with determination, or as a symbol of confidence in your own home, this artwork inspires and enriches every space. Material
Production, design and materials
I create the pictures by hand using mixed media on finest handmade paper. Handmade paper is slightly cream-colored and has irregular edges, which give the picture an additional personal and particularly elegant touch. For this reason, the size of the images may vary. The basic size is A4, i.e. 21 cm x 29,7 cm = approx. 8.3 in x 11,7 in
The motif in red is made from real, hand-made document ink. The digital elements (characters) are applied with conventional printer ink.
Every image is unique. My specially developed techniques allow the creation of similar, but never identical, works. You are holding a truly unique piece in your hand. I sign the sheets by hand on the back (pencil, initialed: WR for Wonnereich, year).
A certificate card with information about the materials is included.
