One of humanity's great adventures, which people have been telling each other again and again for 2000 years, is expressed in this unusual wall object. Three kings from distant lands, often referred to as three wise men, follow a star to bring gifts to the newborn king of all people. They follow a mighty star, who guides them like a magnet to a stable near Bethlehem. There they kneel in front of the manger and present Jesus with their precious gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh. It's a stylish Christian Christmas gift.

It is painted by hand with real gold leaf (23 kt double ducat gold leaf from the Austrian Mint) on handmade paper and is unique because only similar, never identical versions can be produced. The paper is also handmade and comes from an old paper mill in Italy.

The image stands out particularly well against the rough background. The iron plate was cut by hand in a forge in the Alps and punched for hanging. It was then rusted in a controlled manner. The rusting process was stopped. The plate is sealed and will not rust further.

Real handmade paper with tools

I create the pictures by hand using mixed media on finest handmade paper. Handmade paper is slightly cream-colored and has irregular edges, which give the picture an additional elegant touch. For this reason, the size of the images may vary by a few centimeters. The overlay consists of genuine 23 carat double ducat gold leaf from the Austrian Mint. Our era is reflected in the digital elements, which is why the characters are printed with conventional printer ink in a very complicated process. Every picture is unique. My specially developed techniques allow the creation of similar, but never identical, works. You are holding a truly unique piece in your hand. I sign the sheets by hand on the back (pencil, initialed: WR for Wonnereich, year). A certificate card with information about the materials is included.

Iron plate rusted in a controlled manner

The picture is fixed on an iron plate with 4 enclosed magnets. The plate is made of controlled rusted iron and has a thickness between 0.5 to 1 mm, depending on availability. Iron rusts differently, so the coloring is also different. The colors range from silvery-gray tones, which can range from dark gray to reddish brown rust tones. 

The rusting process is started manually and can show different patterns. After a while I stop it and seal the metal to prevent further rusting. The panels are holed in the middle for a nail to attach to the wall unless otherwise noted. For special requests, for example if you do not want holes, Please write me an email and I will check availability.  

As with all handcrafted products, I can only achieve similar, never identical results as shown.

Payment

I will start work after I receive payment confirmation. 

  1. Transfer to my account. You will receive the invoice and account information from me after I receive your order
  2. Paypal if you have a Paypal account
  3. Credit card using Paypal, even if you don't have a Paypal account. You don't need to open a Paypal account

If you have decided to deposit using Paypal/credit card, I usually receive confirmation fairly quickly. If you decide to make a transfer, the duration depends on the bank channel and is beyond my control.

If you pay in a currency other than €, additional bank fees may apply. VAT free because KU.

Unless otherwise stated, images are delivered without frames or accessories.

Working time duration

It usually takes 2 to 3 working days from receipt of the payment confirmation to dispatch. In some cases, delivery of limited editions may be delayed by a few more days. In this case I will notify you immediately.
