After a day spent in front of screens, the eye can come to rest in the hand-painted lines of gold – or linger in the mysterious red of genuine document ink.

The works from Atelier Wonnereich are created on hand-made laid paper. Its softly undulating edge is deliberately left visible, setting the paper apart from its support and allowing each piece to be experienced as a handcrafted object.

Upon request, the works are presented on hand-made iron plates. These are carefully rusted in a controlled process and form, together with the delicate paper and the painting, a charged interplay of calm and strength. Each plate is unique.

The works shown here are one-of-a-kind pieces or part of strictly limited editions. Even within an edition, no two works are alike – each preserves its own distinct handwriting.
